Porsche's Mission-E in India
India shows a rapid increase in buying luxury cars and hybrid or fully electric cars are called as Zero-emission Vehicle. Porsche have also joined the electric sports car manufacturer after displaying it's all electric model Mission-E in the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show. Porsche is planning to launch the model officially in the global market in 2019 and planning to launch the model in India in 2020.
Porsche have seen a good increase in their sales in the Indian sports car market. Earlier the German manufacturer sold almost 400 units in India during the year of 2016, the company had an increase in their sales during the year of 2017 by selling nearly 430 units in the Indian market. Porsche 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster are some of the best selling models of the manufacturer in Indian market.
As India faced series mishaps in pollution issues during the Delhi fog, the country is keen in reducing the pollution in every aspects, buying or producing zero-emission vehicles is one of the ideas in reducing the pollution all over the country luckily Porsche have planned to enter the Zero-Emission Vehicle market in India at the right time.
Porsche has not yet released the full specifications of the car for the Indian market, but it is expected that the car will be delivering high performance level. The general specifications unveiled in the past includes, the model comes with the power of 600 bhp, it can do 0-60 mph within 3.5 seconds. Porsche have planned to produce 15,000 to 20,000 units per year. Porsche Mission-E is powered by two electric motors which can produce up to 440 kw (600 bhp).
It's good to drive an eco-friendly vehicle whether everyone likes it or not, but definitely it will be good for the driver's ears to drive a car which doesn't do a "braapp stutuu". But I love when cars do "braaapp stutu".
